SESSIONS:11:00 am - 1pm
AFTERNOON SESSION: 1:15pm - 3:15pm.
Keyboarding: Monday’s & Wednesday's 11am to 1pm Learn at Your Own Pace 18 hrs. lessons are separated into three different levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
The Beginner level typing speed is 5 WPM (words per minute),
the Intermediate level is 11 WPM, and the Advanced level is 15-40 WPM. Each Lesson consists of a tutorial, a drill, keystroke
practice, an activity, and a quiz to determine participant’s progress. Lesson content starts with the basics and builds
on accumulated knowledge. 9 Sessions
Microsoft Word Program: Monday's & Wednesday's 1:15 -3:15pm Schedule
Participants will learn editing, formatting, saving, copying, retrieving, moving, printing, spell checking and etc.
Participants will use these skills to create and edit professional quality documents. 10 Sessions
Excel Program Tuesday's & Thursdays
11am to 1pm Schedule 21 Hours
Participants will get a firm grasp on this popular spreadsheet program for Windows, including
labels, values, and formulas/functions. Course will cover spreadsheet design with a business
model emphasizing command usage and charting. 11 Sessions
Microsoft PowerPoint Program Tuesday's &Thursday’s 1:15-3:15pm Schedule 8 Hours
Participants learn inside techniques and tips to automate a slide show and design persuasive
and impressive presentation using outlines, slides, clip art and animations. 4 Sessions
Resume Writing and Job Readiness Skills: 11am to 3pm Free Time w/assistance
Each class will give participants an opportunity construct and print resumes and to write cover letters
to prospective employers. Participants will also utilize the computers to search on-line to the popular job sites: www.hotjobs.com’ www.ladders.com; www.job.com; www.manhattanjobs.com; www.monster.com and etc. to identify employers and to submit resumes for gainful employment.
